A self-defence trainer is on the Island today (10 May) to deliver a course aimed at boosting confidence and teaching practical skills.
The free event is being held at Laxey Men's Institute to get women to take control of their own safety.
It's been organised by Stefanie Kerwin, who says it’s also about building a sense of community and supporting women of all ages:
