A Port St Mary man who repeatedly abused the 999 system will be sentenced in the New Year.
Aidan Christopher Bainton, of Victoria Road, admitted making annoying or persistent use of the public communications network during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
Between 7 and 10 December the 30-year-old made numerous calls to the Emergency Services Joint Control Room and Civil Defence.
He claimed he was being abused, requested protection, and made allegations about police corruption.
When a police officer called him back he asked if it was unlawful to think about ‘terrorist activities’ telling him he’d ‘have fun’ on Christmas Eve – something the officer believed was a threat.
Bainton will be sentenced on 31 January once a social enquiry report is completed; he’s been bailed until that date.
