Court of General Gaol Delivery to receive social enquiry report before passing sentence of 34-year-old

A 34-year-old man has had his sentencing adjourned after appearing before the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

Stephen Binding, who is being held at the Isle of Man Prison, previously pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court to one count of actual bodily harm and one count of criminal damage.

The charges relate to the assault of a police officer.

When the case came before the higher court, Deemster Graeme Cook agreed to commission a social enquiry report to assist the court in determining sentence.

Binding is due to be sentenced on 1 May.

There was no application for bail, and Binding was remanded in custody.
