Several cyclists stopped by police on mountain road in 'last few days'

Bicycles are not permitted on mountain section during TT fortnight

Police officers have had to speak with several cyclists who've been stopped on the Mountain Road.

The constabulary says it's had to advise 'a few cyclists' on the stretch in the last couple of days.

Under laws in place on the highways during TT, cyclists are not allowed to use the A18 between Ramsey Hairpin and the junction with Creg-ny-Baa Back Road for the duration of the racing fortnight.

As a result officers are reminding those on bicycles not to use the mountain section of the A18 throughout the two weeks of racing.
