MLC questions education department's actions
An MLC has questioned the education department's decision to fill NSC vending machines with junk food.
Legislative Council member Kerry Sharpe put forward her concerns to Education Minister Graham Cregeen in Tynwald.
Mrs Sharpe compared the issue with smoking on NSC grounds.
She says the introduction of a 'no smoking' sign at the facility sent a clear message that you can't exercise and be healthy if you smoke.
And she believes this message is applicable to vending machines selling junk food at a sports centre:
