Douglas is celebrating a double success in Britain in Bloom.
For the third year running, the Island’s capital has secured a silver achievement award in the large towns and small cities section of the contest.
And it’s also picked up the Royal Horticultural Society’s tourism accolade for promoting links with Douglas’ history and cultural diversity.
A delegation from Douglas Corporation received the award at last night’s (Wednesday) ceremony at Chester Race Course.
Judges praised the enthusiasm from the town’s community and said there were lots of positive initiatives, including the town’s bedding, landscaping, North Quay and the Steam Railway.
