Residents urged to take part in bowel screening
A simple test using a small cancer screening kit could save your life.
That's the message given by health officials in the Island.
The Department of Health and Social Care is raising awareness of the UK's bowel cancer screening campaign 'Be Clear on Cancer'.
All those in the 60-74 age bracket, and registered with a GP, are being sent small kits in the post designed to detect the disease early.
The campaign is running from January until the end of March.
Director of Public Health, Dr Henrietta Ewart, says the test is one of the best ways to beat cancer early.
