DEFA minister says it has no power under Litter Act
Six fixed penalty notices have been issued for littering in the last six years.
Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot provided the figures in the House of Keys earlier.
He was quick to remind the chamber that it's the department of infrastructure which has power under the Litter Act (1972) and not DEFA.
Mr Boot said he didn't have the full figures to hand but had contacted the court to see how many payments they'd taken for littering.
He told members there had also been two prosecutions and several warning letters sent out for the offence since April 2010.
