Clinics will start at Chester Street hub on Saturday

The rollout of Covid-19 vaccinations for the Island's sixteen and seventeen year olds gets underway this weekend

Anyone in the age group who registered for the vaccine with the treble-one hotline can turn up without booking but must bring identification.

Those who arrive having not put their name forward will have to wait and may risk missing out on the day.

The vaccinations will take place at the Chester Street hub in Douglas from eleven o'clock in the morning until three in the afternoon.

There'll be a second session available the following Tuesday, 25 August from 2:30pm until 4pm.

No date has been made available for when they will receive their second jab.

However, any seventeen year olds who are within three months of turning eighteen, will have the option of an appointment shortly after having had their first dose.

Additionally, anyone within the age group and is a household contact with an immunosuppresed person will be offered two jabs in line with the adult rollout.

Anyone who hasn't registered with the treble-one hotline is urged to do so.
