Recount required as single vote separates candidates
Patrick’s first local authority election in 20 years saw drama tonight – with a recount required.
And there was the slimmest of winning margins – fifth placed Geoffrey Gelling beat Timothy Neill, the only unsuccessful candidate, by a single vote. Turnout was 32.6%.
The other winners were Robert Anderson, Roger Bankes-Jones, Adrian Christian and Richard Jones.
Afterwards Adrian Christian told Howard Caine it had been an exciting run-off:
New Year Honours for six Isle of Man residents
Energy security likely to be 'major issue' in election
2025 a 'busy year' for Victim Support Isle of Man but work continues
Flexible alcohol licensing pilot could take place in 2026
