Minister gives evidence to committee
The Infrastructure Minister says suggestions some road improvements were prioritised because they were in his constituency are simply not true.
Phil Gawne was giving evidence to the Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee.
The committee was set up in 2011 with a wide scrutiny remit.
Mr Gawne and Infrastructure chief executive Nick Black were questioned on a wide range of topics, from Peel harbour to the airport.
Replying to a question from committee member Graham Cregeen about why the Sloc road was resurfaced ahead of other busier routes in need of attention, Mr Gawne said he had nothing to do with the decision and, if he had, the Sloc wouldn't have been at the top of his list.
