Union head gives verdict
Unite the Union says a soft Brexit is what's best for the Isle of Man - and not an 'acrimonious divorce'.
Island head Eric Holmes was speaking after the UK general election on Thursday.
He says a new UK government approaching Brussels with too much vigour could damage our national interests.
The Tories failed to gain a majority, and will now need the Northern Irish Democratic Unionist Party's 10 seats to make up their coalition quota.
Mr Holmes was asked if Prime Minister Theresa May annouced the snap election in haste:
Michelle Mone-linked PPE firm liquidated and unlikely to repay £148m
Yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping
Proposed new laws would support homeless people on the Isle of Man
DESC chief officer to retire in 2026
