Soldiers in Island charity trek

Two soldiers from England are trekking the Isle of Man's 100 miles of coastline this week to raise money for their injured comrades.

Warrant Officers Nik Smith, MBE, and Peter Alladice, who are both 39 and from the Royal Logistic Corps in Preston, will begin and end their journey in Douglas.

They have set aside four days to complete the trek, starting on Wednesday, and will be entirely self-sufficient, carrying all their gear and eating army rations.

They are raising money for Help for Heroes, a military charity which aids servicemen and women who have been injured in action.

Donations can be made via justgiving.com/peteandnik and the officers will be collecting money along the way.
