Arbory tailbacks frustrating commuters

The Department of Infrastructure says it's looking at ways to ease the traffic congestion, resulting from the one-way system brought in on Fishers Hill.

Commuters were left frustrated by long tailbacks this morning, as more traffic than usual was forced to use the route past Arbory Primary School.

Some were late for work, and a bus transporting Castle Rushen High School pupils is also understood to have arrived there well after 9am.

Andy Kneen, who's liason officer for Highway Services, has been explaining why the one-way system has been put in place running from north to south:
