Solway Harvester progress?

There may be progress this week in the long running legal battle over the Solway Harvester.

The scallop dredger has been moved across Douglas Harbour and moored on the Victoria Pier (pictured), apparently on the instructions of the Coroner.

There has been no comment on why the move was necessary, but it would make it easier to inspect the vessel.

Proceedings have started in Edinburgh to try and compel the owner of the Solway Harvester, which sank off the Ise of Man in 2000 with the loss of her crew of seven, giving evidence.

Up to now, Richard Gidney has refused to come to the Island.
