Help still available for those that need it says Manx Care
There's some reassurance for people who may be concerned about the Manx Emergency Doctors Service - or MEDS - closing overnight during the week.
Starting today (MON 8th), it will shut from midnight, with anyone needing emergency care advised to go to the Emergency Department at Noble's Hospital or if it's serious, call 999.
Manx Care says the closure is because there is a reduced demand in the small hours, adding it will also help towards financing additional pay costs for MEDS GPs following a revised offer last year.
Executive Director for Health Services Oliver Radford says the impact will be closely monitored for the next 12 weeks, and stresses help will still be available for those that need it:
