Board seeking expressions of interest
The Board of the Southern Recycling Centre is on the hunt for a new contractor to transport waste and supply skips.
A public notice has been issued calling for any contractors interested in tendering for the three-year contract to get in touch with the Clerk of Port St Mary Commissioners office by the end of the week (7 September).
It comes after the previous arrangement with DC Skips expired.
A ban on all commercial waste is currently in place at the site, after large vehicles struggled to turn and offload waste, causing a number of incidents.
Health and safety experts have been working to redesign the layout of the centre, which had been due to reopen in August.
The work hasn't been completed yet though, and the ban has been extended for a further three months.
