New terminal needs 'adjustments' to fix berthing issues
The infrastructure minister says 'specialist lawyers' are currently trying to establish how a problem with the new Liverpool Ferry Terminal was able to happen.
Last month, it was revealed the facility at Prince's Half-Tide Dock needed to be 'adjusted' because mooring lines for the Manxman and Ben-my-Chree were clashing with a dolphin fender there.
The terminal opened its doors in June last year and is estimated to have cost between £70-75 million.
Michelle Haywood MHK says her initial priority is fixing the issue:
Work to improve the mooring is scheduled for this weekend.
It's been delayed a number of times because the heavy-lifting crane barge that's needed hasn't been able to get there because of adverse weather.
It means this weekend's sailings for Liverpool will now be operating to and from Heysham instead.
