Spike in Mec Vannin membership queries

House of Commons discussions act as catalyst

The Island's nationalist political party says it's experienced a spike in inquiries about membership, since what it has dubbed the 'Westminster Wars' in the UK.

Mec Vannin encourages those who 'love and cherish the Manx nation' to get involved.

This week, an amendment was tabled to the Financial Services (Implementation of Legislation) Bill in the House of Commons, which was then withdrawn.

A group of MPs want to force the Island and Crown Dependencies to keep a public register of beneficial ownership.

'Don't be a passive nationalist' is Mec Vannin's message to Manx citizens.
