A huge sponsored walk - involving more than 1,000 students and staff from Ballakermeen High School - gets underway this morning (Tuesday).
The event takes place every two years - and is in remembrace of former members of the school who have died - often tragically.
It's proven a great fund-raising opportunity - with sponsorship and donations amounting to £16,500 in 2005.
The short life of James Berry - a promising young cyclist who died in a road accident - and the schools' former Head of Sixth Form Jeff Vaukins who lost a battle with cancer, will be remembered today.
The walkers will set off in groups from around 10.15 this morning and will be crossing at Pulrose Bridge and Lake Road near Tesco - then walking around the Quay to Douglas Head - motorists please be aware!
Deputy Head teacher Tony Heggs hopes everyone understands it's a walk with a purpose:
Housing, healthcare and overspending some of the concerns ahead of elections
Yellow weather warning for next two high tides
Glover refuses to sign Bishop's vote bill over diocese concerns
