Firm's arrival could boost retail - Christian
Retail could receive a real boost when UK giant Sports Direct takes over the running of the Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas.
That’s according to the leader of Douglas Council.
The company, which has come under fire over 'unethical' working conditions, pay and zero-hours contracts, has plans to regenerate the complex and set up its own store on site.
David Christian hopes the investment will reverse the fortunes of the facility and the high street in general:
