Staff performed well under pressure

There's praise today (Friday) for workers from the Manx Electricity Authority who had to deal with a number of problems during last night’s ferocious storm.

Repair crews were called out throughout the night to restore supplies to homes after trees fell onto power lines in howling winds.

Today it’s been revealed the winds peaked at 125mph on Snaefell, and averaged at 88mph.

MEA spokesman Adrian Dobbins says authority workers are prepared for the worst, and performed well under pressure last night:
