The Steam Packet vessel Manannan is taking part in an emergency exercise in Liverpool today (Sat)
Emergency services are tackling a make-believe fire on board the Mannanan to test out their responses to a real emergency.
The scenario will be based around an engine room fire, with ‘trapped and injured’ crew.
The exercise, which involves Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, got underway at 1pm and will last until for around three hours.
The Steam Packet says it won't interfere with scheduled sailings, with the return 7-15 Liverpool-Isle of Man service operating as normal.
