Steam Packet workers could escalate industrial action to full-scale strikes

Current action set to get underway in less than a week

Full scale strike action could be taken by members of the union Nautilus unless the Steam Packet Company reconsider their position in the negotiating room.

In less than a week, officers are expected to take action short of strike and continue working but strictly to their job description.

It's something the ferry operator thinks won't impact passengers too much, but is putting contingencies in place.

Senior National Organiser Garry Elliot says the possibility is there:

Industrial action short of strike will be taken from 6pm on 27 December.
