Weather warnings will be in place throughout the weekend
The weekend is here and Storm Boelo is coming too.
We'll be updating this page, as well as our Facebook page, on any disruption:
Southerly winds will increase strong to gale force by early afternoon, veering westerly in the evening and becoming severe gale force in places late evening
Given the forecast for heavy rain and risk of localised flooding, the DoI has arranged for stocks of sandbags to be placed at the following locations:
Ramsey - East Quay/Market Square
Laxey - Laxey Promenade & DOI yard (Glen Road)
Douglas - North Quay (Barbary Coast), Bridge Road, Lake Road, Strathallan Road & Civil Defence HQ (Tromode Road)
Castletown - Castletown Promenade (pump station) & Hango Hill
Peel - East Quay (House of Manannan) & Shore Road (Weatherglass/Spit Corner)

Travel
The remainder of today's flights and sailings are cancelled
Most of Sunday's sailings have been cancelled
7:30pm Douglas to Heysham sailing due to go ahead as planned
Roads
The A18 Mountain Road is closed between Brandywell and Barrule Park, Ramsey. The Tholt y Will is also closed from the Bungalow to the Sulby Crossroads. This is due to flooding on the road surface and the danger this causes to road users. This will be reassessed at 9am on Sunday.
Tree down on Old Castletown Road near White Hoe
Due to a fallen tree in Crosby, buses are unable to serve this area at present. All services between Douglas and Peel are currently diverting via Glen Darragh Road, Braaid and Foxdale between Glen Vine and Ballacraine crossroads, in both directions.
An update will be provided as soon as the road re-opens.
