Strategy for Children moves forward

The government's aim of improving the lives of children and young people in the Isle of Man has taken a big step forward.

MATs - or multi-agency teams - are being established in each of the five neighbourhood policing areas, charged with the task of finding out and delivering what youngsters in their communities need.

The teams have representatives from social services, health, education, the police and the voluntary sector and are looking at a range of goals, highlighted in the Chief Minister's Strategy for Children and Young People.

Chief Constable Mike Langdon is confident the new approach will bear fruit:
