Engine failed off Laxey
A stricken yacht off the east coast of the Island led to the callout of the Douglas lifeboat yesterday afternoon.
The vessel, which had five people on board, had been heading back to Douglas, when the engine failed as it was passing Laxey.
With the weather, fog and rain, closing in and one of the crew suffering from sea sickness the skipper anchored the yacht just off Clay Head and called for assistance.
The lifeboat located the small yacht and towed it back to Douglas.
Apart from the one person being seasick, the others on board appeared none the worse for their ordeal, according to the RNLI's report.
