Students feel impact of industrial action

Pupils empathise with teachers

Students are already feeling the brunt of industrial action, which started in schools across the Island yesterday.

It involves teachers only working to their contracted hours, meaning all extra-curricular clubs and revision sessions have been put, temporarily, on hold.

The action comes as a result from the ongoing pay dispute between teaching staff and the Education Department.

Maeve, Ciara, and Oli from Ballakermeen High School spoke to Lewis Foster about their thoughts on the situation:

As of last night (Mon 24), a decision has been made by NAHT members for Head Teachers to go on strike on 31 March.

The decision was voted on unanimously.
