Students make 'Perspective'

A new series of 'Perspective' programmes begins on Manx Radio this evening, in which Manx students address some of biggest political and social issues affecting the Island.

Producer Ffinlo Costain (pictured) says he started researching the idea following last year's decision to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote.

Tonight's show will feature students from Ballakermeen High School who quizzed the Chief Minister on Immigration.

In the weeks to come Queen Elizabeth the Second pupils will debate Freedom to Flourish with Phil Gawne MHK, Castle Rushen High will grill Home Affairs Minister, Martyn Quayle, on yob culture and Environment Minister John Shimmin will answer questions from Ballakermeen students on Climate Change.

Ffinlo says the idea is to prove young people can be just as well informed as anyone else:

Perspective starts at five past six this evening.
