Sugar tax title 'misleading'

Local drinks producer says it won't improve poor diets

The owners of a well-known local soft-drinks producer say whilst they agree with the ethos of a sugar tax - it won't solve the issue of getting people to eat healthily.

Tynwald has recently decided to mirror the UK's introduction of the tax in 2018

Will Foulds and Charlotte Traynor run apple orphanage which produces apple juice and other soft drinks, along with a cider.

Whilst they believe it's still too early to say for certain if their drinks will be exempt from the tax, Charlotte says the title of "sugar tax" is misleading.
