Tree felling works to take place

A section of the Sulby Straight (A3 Ballacraine to Ramsey Road) will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians for several hours this weekend.

It's as tree felling works will be taking place.

It'll be shut from its junction with the A14 Sulby Glen Road for a distance of 210 metres in a northerly direction between 9am and 4pm today (Saturday 28 March) and tomorrow (Sunday 29 March).

An alternative route is available via the B9 Ballacrye Road, the A13 Ballamona Road and the A14 Clenagh Road; or the A14 Clenagh Road, the A13 Sandygate Road and the A17 St Jude’s Road.

The existing weight limit on the A14 Clenagh Road, Lezayre, is also suspended for its entire length.

The closure has been requested by Watling Streetworks on behalf of Island Tree and Landscaping for the purposes of felling structurally unstable trees.

Emergency service vehicles and personnel will be exempt from the closure.
