Over 140 fish killed last September
Summerhill Glen has been restocked with trout after a pollution incident in its waters last year saw over 140 fish killed.
The Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture says the glen has been resupplied with male and female brown trout from the lower stretches of the stream.
The department also says invertebrates have already returned to the area which are a good food source for the fish.
In September last year a 'detergent-based pollutant' killed most of the fish in the upper stream of the glen.
Officials warned at the time it could take 'years' for the fish population there to get back to previous levels.
DEFA is now reminding residents to be vigilant - adding the likes of detergent, oils, pesticides and concrete washings are lethal to marine life.
