Sustrans to assist DoI with Active Travel Plan

Aim to get fifth of Islanders cycling to work

A transport charity from the UK is looking to help government achieve its aims set out in its Active Travel Plan.

Sustrans was appointed by the Department of Infrastructure to get 20 per cent of Islanders walking or cycling to work.

Two positions have now been created to encourage more workers and students to ditch short car journeys in favour of a healthier mode of transport.

Rosslyn Colderly from Sustrans says it has worked in a number of regions across Britain.
