Island marks Deaf Awareness Week
This week is Deaf Awareness Week, and the theme this year focuses on the right to understand.
Each year, the initiative aims to increase public understanding of deaf culture, highlight the resilience of the community, and promote inclusivity.
Over the last few days, the Manx Deaf Society has been highlighting how communication barriers affect everyday life.
Later today (Friday 8 May) Lucy will be delivering a Deaf Awareness session for charity leaders.
And tomorrow (Saturday 9 May), the society is hosting a 'Here to Hear' Group Visit to Milntown in Ramsey.
Members of the group will meet at Milntown Gardens for lunch and a relaxed afternoon exploring the grounds.
