Reform lecture this evening
Reform of the Legislative Council over the last four centuries will be explored at a public lecture this evening (Wednesday).
Professor Peter Edge will be talking about the past, present, and future reform of the Manx parliament’s upper chamber as the UCM’s history and heritage public lecture series continues.
It’s a timely event ahead of the next Legislative Council elections in March.
Professor Edge, from Oxford Brookes University, will explore the development of the Manx constitution and some of the stories which led to political conflict.
‘Taking the Long View on LegCo’ is at six o’clock at University College Isle of Man in Douglas.
