Talk on death in detention

An exploration of why internees who died on the Island during the two World Wars were commemorated in different ways will take place tonight (17 May).

From 6pm in the Lecture Theatre at Elmwood House in Douglas, Hamish Killip will deliver a talk titled 'Death in Detention'.

He'll be discussing cases like the uneven treatment of the dead after a wartime crash of an RAF aircraft on Snaefell.

Open to the public, the event's been organised by University College Isle of Man as part of it's 'History and Heritage' series.
