Teachers Union votes for industrial action

All three bodies to ballot members back disruption

The NASUWT is the third teachers union to vote for industrial action.

The Teachers' Union, which represents around 500 members on the Isle of Man or 60% of teachers and school leaders, has joined ASCL and the NAHT in voting in favour of some kind of disruption.

The details of the vote - in schools 94% who returned their ballot paper voted in favour of a strike while 98% were in favour of action short of a strike.

There was a 68% turnout.

At University College Isle of Man, 94% was the figure for a strike with 100% in favour of industrial action short of a strike.

The turnout at UCM was 69%.
