NASUWT members voted in favour of action over ongoing pay dispute
The NASUWT teaching union has issued instructions to its members for industrial action, following an ongoing dispute over pay, workload and working practices on the Isle of Man.
The majority of its roughly 600 members voted in favour of action short of strike earlier this month after rejecting a two per cent pay offer from government.
The action, starting Wednesday, 27 April, involves refusing to undertake any work related activities outside pupil session times or during the lunch break, including; attending meetings, events, and sending or answering work related emails.
Its members will also not undertake extra-curricular activities other than those agreed to by the Union - such as planned and paid-for school trips and revision sessions for Year 11 and 13 exam classes.
Students will return to school next week after the Easter break.
