Teaching union "potentially considering strike action"

NASUWT escalating action short of striking from Monday

A teaching union says it's not against strike action if conditions don't improve for its members.

It's after the NASUWT announced it's escalating the action short of strike its members have been taking part in since April on Monday.

It means from Monday its members will no longer undertake break duties or cover staff absences - planned or otherwise.

Geraldine O'Neill is the Local Negotiating Secretary for the union:

Manx Radio is yet to have a response to the announcement from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.
