Teare tells students 'Help us to help you'


The minister for education and children says he will do everything he can to help young people who have left education, but aren't in work or on training courses.

The Island's latest unemployment figures showed around 400 young people in that category, and Eddie Teare says there could be more following the GCSE results later this month.

He says if students don’t get the grades they are hoping for, there will be a period of time when they will try to decide what to do next.

He says his department will help, but young people can help themselves by planning what they might do if their results are disappointing:
