Tesco and Shoprite issue product recall

Frozen vegetables found with bacterial pathogen

Supermarkets across Britain have issued a product recall amid fears of a bacterial contamination.

Its comes following an announcement from the Foods Standard Agency warning of listeria found in a number of frozen vegetable items.

UK distributor Greenyard Frozen, have voluntarily recalled their products which are found in the some of the Island's supermarkets.

As a precautionary measure, nine varieties of Tesco's frozen vegetables have been taken from shelves, as have an Iceland-brand from Shoprite.

Products recalled:

Tesco 4 Steam Bags Carrot, Broccoli and Sweetcorn

Tesco 4 Steam Bags Peas, Broccoli, Spinach and Sweetcorn

Tesco Mixed Vegetables with Red Peppers

Tesco Sweetcorn (resealable)

Tesco Classic Mixed Vegetables (resealable)

Tesco Growers Harvest Sweetcorn

Tesco Growers Harvest Mixed Vegetables

Tesco Growers Harvest Garden Peas

Tesco Everyday Value Sweetcorn

Iceland Frozen Mixed Vegetable

Customers are advised not to consume these products and to return them to the store where a full refund will be given.
