The Island to remember Deemster Mike Kerruish

The funeral of a man revered by his profession and the wider Manx community takes place in Lonan today (Friday).

A large congregaiton will gather to say a final farewell to Deemster Mike Kerruish, at the ceremony in Lonan Chrurch at noon.

His contribution to public life in the Island, his exceptional skill as a lawyer and the huge respect he earned from all who met him, have been extolled in generous terms, since his death at the age of 61 last week.

On Monday, the second deemster David Doyle delivered a formal euology in Douglas Courthouse, before an audience representing the Island's legal profession and judiciary.

He spoke of his late colleague's exceptional gifts:

You can hear a recording of the entire eulogy given by Deemster David Doyle in court on our website, manxradio.com
