Island hoping to beat current record of 3,486 participants

The largest ever Pilates class could be taking place on the Isle of Man this weekend.

It's hoped around 4,000 will head to Knockaloe Farm on Sunday (19 July) in a bid to beat the current record of 3,486 participants set in Turkey in 2013.

The practice was developed by Joseph Pilates when he was an internee at Knockaloe during World War II.

The world record attempt gets underway at 2pm, with other activities taking place throughout the day.

Joanna Crookall is one of the organisers of the event, and says you don't need Pilates experience to be able to take part:
