Good start for Richard Gerard
This years Manx Telecom Parish Walk got underway on time and in good conditions.
Almost 1400 walkers set off from the NSC at 8am.
As the walkers went through Braaid crossroads around 9.20 Richard Gerard, Chris Cale and Brian Kelly were out in front in the early stages of the 85 mile event.
Dave Christian saw them go through:
Police are reminding motorists to be aware of large numbers of people on the Island's roads throughout the day and night. Support vehicles are also urged to drive and park up sensibly.
Meanwhile, this year's race will see live video streaming of parts of it for the first time, via the website, parishwalk.com
