Time to change the planning system?

Government wants the public's views

Government is asking the Manx public if it's time to change planning and address failings in the system.

A consultation's been launched on how a new planning structure can be 'shaped' which responds to building needs on the Island, but protects our unique environment.

It comes following a pledge to review planning, made in the Quayle administration's policy document, the Programme for Government.

The consultation has over fifty-five questions on the subject, including whether planning policy can be changed more flexibly, and whether some developments can take place without the need for approval.

It can be found online at consult.gov.im/. Any inquiries about the details of the document can be sent to reviewofplanning@gov.im
