Landmarks light up for mitochondrial disease
Two Island landmarks will light up green tonight.
The Tower of Refuge and Ramsey swingbridge will do so to help raise awareness of mitochondrial disease.
It's is an inherited chronic illness that can be present at birth or develop later in life.
It can lead to debilitating physical, developmental, and cognitive issues.
It's estimated that 1 in 4,000 people has the condition, which is progressive and has no cure.
