Incident caught on CCTV
A fight in Douglas town centre in the early hours of the morning has landed two men in court.
Dieter Paul Johnson, of the Larivane Estate in Andreas, and Nathaniel Gilbert, of Asbourne Avenue in Douglas, have appeared at Douglas courthouse.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes heard the duo, who're both 22 years old, launched the attack in Strand Street at around 3am on 11 March.
Prosecutor James Robinson said a passerby rang police after witnessing the fight.
Officers examined CCTV from cameras in the area and saw the pair arguing with a man and a woman in the street.
Both appeared to walk away afterwards, but the footage showed Johnson running back and knocking the man to the floor.
Gilbert then punched and kicked the man in the head, causing cuts and bruises.
Both men were granted bail, and they’ll be sentenced on 2 July.
