Traffic calming infrastructure could cost 'hundreds of thousands'

DoI looking at 'School Streets' trial

Implementing 'physical structures' to calm traffic around Ballakermeen High School could cost hundreds of thousands of pounds.

That's the admission from the infrastructure minister who's confirmed his department will start a consultation in order to launch a 'School Streets' trial. 

Tim Crookall was quizzed on reducing speed limits in the area in the House of Keys yesterday by Douglas Central MHK Ann Corlett:

Mr Crookall said the 'School Streets' trial could decrease road danger, increase physical activity and reduce CO2 emissions.
