Tramway Terrace report expected by the end of the week

DoI awaiting assurances over the safety of the building

The infrastructure minister hopes to have a report into the condition of Tramway Terrace on Douglas promenade by the end of the week.

An engineer has been inspecting the building to determine whether it's structurally safe ahead of the start of the 2024 horse tram season.

The Department of Infrastructure previously said the structure would have to be demolished due to the condition of the building, but a further inspection on behalf of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture found the building could be saved.

In January, Tim Crookall stated the tramway might not be able to operate this year if the building can't be made safe.

Speaking at this month's Tynwald sitting, he said his department needs assurances:
