Transformation director will not be replaced

Health Minister Ashford says role will use existing resources

The recently-vacated position of Health and Care Transformation Director within the health department will not be directly replaced.

That’s according to health minister David Ashford, who was quizzed about the resignation of the former post-holder John Spicer by a Tynwald Committee this morning.

Mr Spicer accepted a two-year contract with the Cabinet Office in October but resigned from the role after just two months.

It was a key recommendation in the Sir Jonathan Michael review.

Mr Spicer has previously worked on similar projects in England

Minister Ashford says the role is instead going to be carried out using ‘existing resources’ within the Cabinet Office.
